Amsterdam - Day 3.

April 20, 2013

Same drift this morning, got up at 8am again and was ready an hour later.

Here's what I woke up to this morning.

Mind you, despite the gorgeousness, it was only 7 degrees, and all I had was a miserable spring coat.

Sadly, today was our last full day left in Amsterdam, so we decided to walk around the city. We just kept walking and walking with no apparent destination. Here are some selected photos from today.

We actually walked past this lane and it had this boutique there called sissy boy. What a name !

Naturally, after all that walking, we were all extremely famished. We somehow landed at the city square of Amsterdam, and seeing as the sun was out, we just chose a random restaurant and sat outside. But even though the sun was out, it was still cold. So obviously our coats didn't come off.

We had Italian for lunch, and boy was it delicious. Wow, our first non oriental cuisine ! Sad thing was, it was close to 2pm and we had planned to have an early dinner today, so we all didn't finish our food.

We made our way back to the apartment shortly after lunch so that my grand-mother could rest after all that walking. We past by a few interesting shops on the way, and I couldn't resist taking a picture of the candy shop !

Some candy lingerie for you ?

At about half past 5, we slowly made our way to Chinatown. There was this restaurant, which is supposedly packed everyday. So in order to get a table, we had to have an early dinner. If you ever do visit Amsterdam, be sure to check out new king.

After dinner, we took a stroll and visited the famous red light district of Amsterdam. It was fairly interesting to be honest. But as it was still early, most of the windows were vacant.

We got back to the apartment and rested. Before we knew it, it was 9pm. Uncle Pat promised that we could go back and have a look at the red light district earlier, but he grew tired and was too lazy to go. Oh wells, some day I shall visit Amsterdam again, but the next time, it definitely wouldn't be a road trip.

We spent the remaining hours of the day watching a mad money which was showing on telly. I've never heard of it, but it turned out to be rather interesting. Go watch it if you have some time to spare.
