Taiwan 2015 - Day 5.
Originally, we were supposed to visit Taichung, but due to bad planning, we decided not to go and changed it to shopping day instead.
Melvin suggested that we could go to Gong guan where they sold all them shoes. I was looking for a specific pair of nike heels which I haven't been able to find these past few days.
We walked in and out of all the shops and I finally decided to flash a photo of the pair of heels that I wanted and was told that they haven't seen it before in Taiwan. Boo hoo hoo. There goes my pair of heels !
Well, by the time we did all that walking in and out of different shoe stores, it was time for lunch. We walked into this restaurant that sold Japanese curry and decided to have our lunch there. After attempting to place our orders, we realised that most of the menu was out of stock, so we left. We then walked into this random shop which sold beef noodles and looked really run down. But can I just say that they serve the most tastiest food !
We ended up ordering 2 more portions of them dumplings because we just couldn't get enough of it !
So anyways, here are photos of us before gobbling down our food.
As we had nothing planned for the whole day, we decided to search for something to do. Suddenly, someone suggested going to the Zoo and we all agreed, so off to the Zoo we went. It might sound really lame, but I had a really good time. Managed to see my favorite akai panda too !
Well, here are some of the selected photos from our visit to the Zoo ( full album can be found on facebook ! ).
So if you're planning to visit Taipei in the near future, you could consider the Zoo to be part of your itinerary.
So by the time we were done, it was evening. We took a cab back to the hotel to freshen up before going for dinner.
For today's dinner, Shawn had requested to go to the famous 马辣 steamboat buffet. We expected a long queue, but luckily for us, we managed to snag the last available table ! If not, we were told that the next available table was expected to be at half past 10 !
If there is one thing I like about steamboats in Taiwan, is the fact that they have duck's blood there ( I actually like pig's blood, but honestly, they're pretty similar ! ). The other thing that I really like, is that they have mochi that can be put into the steamboat ! It'd be pretty awesome if they had that in Singapore too ! If you're a fan of steamboats, make sure you check this place out !
So after dinner, we went to Shilin night market for walkies. Most people go there mainly to eat all them delicious street food, but we went to shop instead. Sadly, as I mentioned before, we chose the wrong time of the year to visit Taipei for shopping. They were still on winter wear.
Sad Nana is sad. Oh wells.
