Bangkok 2013 - Day 3.

September 12, 2013
Why does time always pass so quickly when you're having a good time ?

We left the hotel and headed into town just past noon. Vivi had wanted to take us to have authentic Thai food near siam square. It was a short walk from the train station, not too bad a walk though.

So here are photos from our feast of a lunch.

And here's us before digging in.

After we were done with lunch, we walked over to this dessert stall called mango tango. This is a definite must-go if you do go to Bangkok.

I had a really hard time choosing what to have, but in the end, I settled for the full set. I only have 2 words - No regrets.

We decided to walk around there area as there were some shops nearby in the back alley. It's the bugis village kind of concept. They were actually looking for this shop that specializes in polariod, but when we finally found the alley, we saw a sign saying that they have moved to terminal 21. So you can only guess where we went next. We spent less than an hour there as we had a dinner reservation at vertigo and moon bar at half past 7. So after we were done, we all rushed back to the hotel to freshen up.

As expected, we were a little bit late. But that wasn't a problem. The problem ? Worrying that it'll start raining half way through our meal as we were on the rooftop of the hotel. But I must say, the view was breathe taking.

So anyways, vertigo and moon ba' is a five star fine dining restaurant. So you can only imagine how dear the bill will be.

Here's a glimpse of the menu so you can have a rough idea.

Here are photos of my 4 course meal which I truly enjoyed.

Mozzarella, organic tomatoes, wild rucola, white truffle oil.

Lobster bisque, truffle scented langoustine, cavier.

Raspberry sorbet shot before main course.

Flame grilled Angus tenderloin, mash potato, buttered asparagus, wild mushroom jus.

And for dessert,

Mango cheesecake.

And a meal is not complete without the after coffee.

Thank you Lord, for keeping the rain away till we were done with dinner.

So earlier, before we left the hotel, we did actually decided that we'd come back for a change of clothes before heading to the night market, but we changed our minds and went straight to the night market. I don't actually know what the place is called, but it was pretty nice. The sad thing was that we arrived just shortly after 10pm and most shop closed at around 11pm. We split up and just brisked walked through the different alleys. I did manage to buy a few bits and pieces here and there. I would so love to go back there again.

On the way back to the hotel, we were discussing on what we should do next. Vivi then suggested that we go clubbing, but we didn't in the end as it was pissing it down. We'd just end up soaking wet. So now, they're all chilling in my room.

Well, here's my loot for the day.
