Bangkok 2012 - Day 1.

July 14, 2012
I managed to wake up at 7am this morning. Got myself ready, and then woke the girls up. We then headed over to the airport.

We were already running late, but we were still posing with our passports in front of the departure sign.

We brisked walked to our gate and started panicking because there wasn't a single person in sight. The whole gate was just deserted. We actually shat ourselves. And it didn't help that this airport crew on the other side of the glass panel face palmed himself before he realized that our boarding gate had changed location. What a scare we had ! So like, we were one of the last few to take our place on the plane. How embarrassing ey ? Even though the 3 of us barely had any sleep, we were hyper. And can you guess what we were doing throughout the flight ? #WEFIES

Finally arrived at Bangkok at about 1pm. First thing we did after collecting our bags, was run outside to the smoking area for a puff ! We then went to buy ourselves a SIM card so that we could use whatsapp. Next, we headed for gate 5 where our arranged transport was. It took us about one and a half hours to get to our hotel, baiyoke skye. You know what's amusing ? Their lobby is located on the 18th story.

After checking in, we went up to our room and waited for our bags. As soon as our bags came, we went to purchase our tickets for the buffet dinner. Once that was done, we went round looking for food. We ended up eating at a food court downstairs. I had Thai kuey teow moo for the first time, and now I am in love with it.

Check this out. We were made to change our money into food vouchers to purchase our food !

After lunch, we started our shopping at pratunam market. We then headed to platinum mall but most of the shops were getting ready for closing, so that kind of sucked. Guess what sucked even more ? It started pissing it down randomly. We managed to find shelter nearby. We stood there for the next 20 minutes before buying ourselves umbrellas. When we got back to the hotel, we changed into nicer looking clothes for our dinner. The sad thing was, we paid for the premium buffet where we were supposed to be dining with an amazing view. But because it was raining, the outside area was shut. How disappointing.

But nonetheless, we had an a amazing experience with an overload of good food.

They even had entertainment provided !

But our main purpose of having dinner there was to celebrate Sharin's birthday ! Happy birthday my dear ! Hope you had a great time.

We even managed to convince them to let us go to the balcony for a puff and a few pictures. The wind there was so strong though, that I felt like Marilyn Monroe. Like literally, I had to tuck my dress in between my legs and still hold it down from the front whilst posing for pictures, it was that bad. T.T But I must say, apart from the boo-boo, the view was absolutely gorgeous !

After dinner, we took a taxi to a local night market called sampanput - I don't really know the spelling. But that place was huge ! As soon as we got off the taxi, we started shopping. We walked and walked for about 2 hours before most of the shops closed. I didn't really buy much today, but I can't say the same for the other 2 girls !

Well, off to bed now. Apparently, we have to ransack the morning market below our hotel in a few hours. Good night Bangkok !
