I wish all of you happiness and prosperity in the coming year !

So usually, the cooking would be done by my grand-mother. She'd prepare her delicious mee siam for our guests. But this year, since my mother is back, she thought she'd do the cooking instead. And for fun, she prepared rice cakes and spring rolls. In Chinese, there is a saying. 年年高升 - Advance towards higher positions and prosperity, step by step, hence the rice cake and 春卷 - Wealth, hence the spring rolls, which represents a gold bar.

Pretty neat huh ?

And just so you know, rice cakes are my favorite. Teehee.
