What a day.

January 14, 2023
Oh what a terrible day we’ve had.

So, after being infected with corona virus last September, we finally decided that it was time to get our booster shot. Initially, we had planned to get it done on yesterday, thinking that it would give us 2 days to rest if were going to be suffering from any side effects. But hey, things don’t always go according to plan and so, today was the next best day and so we chose to go to the warehouse for half the day and had planned to leave at 2pm.

Now, the only thing that went according to plan, was stopping work at 2pm. We went downstairs and tried to get ourselves out of Tuas. So we waited and waited, until an hour and a half went by and still, we had no luck.

Filled with desperation, my boyf stopped a lorry that has just visited the coffee shop on our compound and asked if he could take us as far out as he could. Thankfully, he said that he would take us to the bus stop, which bus stop, we had no idea, but it sounded like a better plan than waiting and praying that we’d get a grab.

Sitting at the back of a lorry felt pretty weird if you ask me. It kind of felt like I was an illegal immigrant that just swam across the borders. Well, you get what I mean.

15 minutes later, he tells us that this is our stop and so we thanked him and sat at the bus stop. We had a look at the time table and realized that there wasn’t any bus running at this time. Double whammy!

Across the street was a petrol station and so we decided to cross over and try and get us a grab again. We saw that there was a taxi refueling and decided to try our luck and ask if he could get us out of Tuas south. He politely turned us down saying that he has a booking in 30minutes. We starting panicking a little as the last walk in time for the vaccination centre was 530pm. We tried getting a grab again, but obviously no one goes into Tuas south on a Saturday. So this time, as the taxi driver was walking out of the kiosk, he said he’d take us to the nearest train station. Hallelujah!

Once we got to the train station, we managed to get ourselves a grab in no time and of course we made it to the vaccination centre in time.

Oh and by this time, we were starving as we skipped lunch.

So, can you guess what we had for dinner?
